Mr. Greg Melcher

Mr. Melcher is a Senior Fellow at the Potomac Foundation.

Prior to joining the Potomac team in 2015, Mr. Melcher served as the National Security Analysis Executive at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he led laboratory efforts focused on conducting analyses that enable a wide range of government sponsors to make informed decisions regarding critical national security issues.

Mr. Melcher served 26 years as a civilian in the Department of the Navy. He was the Deputy Director and the Head of Readiness Assessments for the Chief of Naval Operations Assessment Division. Earlier in his career he held a variety of positions in two Naval Systems Acquisition Commands focused on systems engineering and analysis, research and development, test and evaluation, associated with major weapon systems acquisition.

Mr. Melcher has a Masters degree in Global Policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland.  He was an MIT Seminar XXI Fellow and completed the Program Manager’s Course at the Defense Systems Management College.
